On Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 14:00, the talk held in the MAKÜ Faculty of Theology Conference Hall, which is jointly used with the Faculty of Tourism, evaluated in detail the tourism potential between Japan and Turkey, existing collaborations, and future opportunities. Dr. Mahmut Münir Güzel shared with the participants how the tourism mobility between the two countries has transformed into a success story with his own experiences and expertise in the sector. This talk also demonstrated that the R&D Coordination exhibits a "development-focused" approach by considering not only scientific research but also the interests of students in their career and personal development.
During the event, while emphasizing how tourism contributes to economic development through the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, important information was also provided about sustainable tourism approaches and new generation tourism trends. The talk attracted significant interest from academics, students, and representatives of the tourism sector. Participants had the opportunity to ask their questions after Dr. Güzel's presentation.
The R&D Coordination sees the feedback from students as an important part of its development mission, in addition to institutional research activities. The talk organized within this scope has been a valuable step towards achieving the goal of broadening students' vision through international collaborations and the promotion of different cultures.
