Interreg NEXT Mediterranean Basin Cross-Border Cooperation Program First Call for Proposals

As known, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs serves as the National Authority of the Cross-Border Cooperation Programs in which Turkey participates. Our country is participating in the Interreg IPA Bulgaria-Turkey Cross-Border Cooperation Program, Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Cross-Border Cooperation Program, and Interreg NEXT Mediterranean Basin Cross-Border Cooperation Program in the 2021-2027 period.
In the Mediterranean Basin Cross-Border Cooperation Program, the provinces of Tekirdağ, Edirne, Kırklareli, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, İzmir, Aydın, Denizli, Muğla, Antalya, Isparta, Burdur, Adana, Mersin, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, Manisa, Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya, and Uşak from Turkey are included. Besides our country, Algeria, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Malta, Palestine, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia, and the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus (GCASC) are participating in the program.
The first call for proposals of the mentioned program, amounting to 103.6 million euros, was published on December 15, 2023. Within the scope of the program, projects jointly prepared by eligible institutions and organizations from our country and other program countries in the basin will be supported.
In this context, it is possible to submit projects in areas such as competitiveness, smart technologies, energy efficiency, climate change, disaster management, access to water, circular economy, education, health, and governance under the priorities of "A More Competitive and Smarter Mediterranean", "A Greener, Low-Carbon, and Resilient Mediterranean", "A More Social and Inclusive Mediterranean", and "Better Cooperation Governance for the Mediterranean".
